Just few weeks before the federal election, the German government has set new guidelines for its Africa Policy.
The guidelines among other things, emphasize the exchange with civil society and, to a larger extent, the exchange with the young population of Africa: “This young population will decide on the shape of future relations with Germany and Europe,” it says.
Germany is committed to supporting the Pan-African Free Trade Area and strengthening trade relations. In energy policy, the German government wants fair partnerships that support an energy transition on both continents like the Hyphen hydrogen project in Namibia.
